{"id":348,"date":"2013-04-22T14:54:28","date_gmt":"2013-04-22T21:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/?p=348"},"modified":"2013-04-22T14:54:28","modified_gmt":"2013-04-22T21:54:28","slug":"pilots-from-the-high-plains-to-the-low-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/pilots-from-the-high-plains-to-the-low-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"Pilots from the High Plains to the Low Countries&#8230;.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, everyone!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_349\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3159.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-349\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-349\" alt=\"Bees!\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3159-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3159-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3159-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-349\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bees!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We&#8217;re starting to get busy down here on the lake. \u00c2\u00a0Spring is like that. \u00c2\u00a0The daffodils have come and gone already, and our other flowers are starting to bloom. \u00c2\u00a0My &#8220;dad&#8221; installed a new swarm\u00c2\u00a0of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keeping-honey-bees.com\/\">honeybees<\/a> in the hives on the dock (don&#8217;t worry, they ignore people,) and my &#8220;frenemies,&#8221; the geese, are nesting. \u00c2\u00a0And boy are those geese territorial!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, we&#8217;ve had a couple of checkrides to celebrate here this week. \u00c2\u00a0First, my friend Ed from Casper, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wyomingtourism.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wyoming<\/a>, passed his ASES checkride! \u00c2\u00a0Ed is no stranger to the skies: \u00c2\u00a0he spends most of his time flying pipeline patrol in the Intermountain West. \u00c2\u00a0He liked flying where there was lots of water &#8211; and where he could land on the water!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_350\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3148.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-350\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-350\" alt=\"Ed from Wyoming\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3148-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3148-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_3148-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-350\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ed from Wyoming<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then, my friend Willem came here all the way <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holland.com\/us\/tourism.htm\" target=\"_blank\">from the Netherlands!
