I hope you&#8217;ve had a good holiday season, wherever you are.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s sunny, crisp, and cold here on Lake Union. Contrary to popular belief, it does not rain all the time in Seattle! In fact, Seattle is just about average among world cities in annual rainfall: around 36 inches (92cm) of moisture. New York, Miami, Sydney, and Bangkok get a lot more than that!\u00c2\u00a0 Don&#8217;t believe me?\u00c2\u00a0 You can check for yourself, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldclimate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>,\u00c2\u00a0for all the details.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I just wanted you to know that rain or shine, it&#8217;s a great day for a flight! And today, (at least!)\u00c2\u00a0the sun is shining.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, I got a present for Christmas from my friend Jennie! Being a Doberman, I never bothered much to learn the words (I&#8217;m usually sleeping by then, anyway!)\u00c2\u00a0 The song was written by Scotland&#8217;s great poet, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertburns.org\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Burns<\/a>, and is written a Scots dialect.\u00c2\u00a0 (being a Doberman, I don&#8217;t worry much about dialects, either) But, in case you&#8217;re curious, here is how you&#8217;d pronounce the words with\u00c2\u00a0a Scottish accent:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Shid ald akwentans bee firgot,<br \/>\nan nivir brocht ti mynd?<br \/>\nShid ald akwentans bee firgot,<br \/>\nan ald lang syn*?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>(yeah, I looked it up on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Auld_Lang_Syne\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>So, from all of us at Seattle Seaplanes, Happy New Year, and come see us in 2011!<\/p>\n<p><em>Cheers,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Toby James<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, everybody!
