The weather usually keeps most folks inside, rather than out on their sailboats or paddleboards or what have you.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Or, at least, there are a lot fewer boats out at this time of year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_103\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0276.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-103\" title=\"IMG_0276\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0276-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0276-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0276-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-103\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Many masts<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Until this week, that is!\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s time for the great, big\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattleboatshow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle Boat Show<\/a>, an annual event that turns thoughts to summer, and nautical fun. The main show is at the Qwest Events Center, but here on Lake Union, we get to see the &#8220;boats afloat&#8221; part of the show.\u00c2\u00a0The south end of the lake has become Boat Central:\u00c2\u00a0 fancy yachts, beautiful sailboats, fun cruisers &#8211; they&#8217;re all there!<\/p>\n<p>It sure is fun to be down here on the lake (even if the geese honk at me a little too much&#8230;.)\u00c2\u00a0 Always something to see!<\/p>\n<p>This week, we also saw a semi-annual event: the unusual sight of floating buildings! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakeunioncrew.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lake Union Crew <\/a>has two buildings they use for their clubhouse, and these unusual buildings are also certified vessels, allowing them to be taken anywhere on inland waters.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a pilot, stop for a moment to think about dodging a two-story building on final approach&#8230;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\"><div id=\"attachment_100\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMAG00651.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-100\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-100\" title=\"IMAG0065[1]\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMAG00651-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMAG00651-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.seattleseaplanes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMAG00651-1024x612.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-100\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">M\/V Inspiration (or is it M\/V Unity?
